To Isaac and Shamus, witnessing to Jehovah's Universal Sovereignty is one matter, being congregationally acknowledged as "one of Jehovah's Witnesses" is quite another. I am in fear of Jehovah; the congregation is in fear of getting sued, I suggest.

Romans 10:13
by PSacramento inwe all know that the passage from paul's letter to romans, romans 10:13 says:.
"all those who call on the name of the lord will be saved".. now, in the nwt they translate that as jehovah instead of the word "lord", because this is a quote from joel 2:32 and in the ot the tetragrammaton yhwh is used, which the nwt translates as "jehovah" (not only the nwt does that, the asv,yng and dby, do it also in regards to joel).. however, of the 16 translations i have seen, all translate that passage in romans as lords and all the commentaries i have read so far, point to view that paul was applying that passage to jesus, being his name that is salvation.. commentaries by james, fausset and brown, by matthew henry and by barnes, to name only 3.. comments?.

As to Stephen's question, sorry for my cognitive dissonance as previously here expressed. I was stumped by something in the tone which I rèad. My analysis of John 17:3 is that "Salvation from sin [a.k.a. everlasting life] is dependent upon on-going intake of divine knowledge, both of Jehovah (a.k.a. the only true God) and of the one whom Jehovah sent forth (a.k.a. Jesus Christ)." This knowledge includes the name of Jehovah [John 17:6, Matthew 4:4,7,10 which quote from the OT where the Tetragrammaton is used] as well as that of Jesus Christ [John 17:3], I suggest.

Thank you, possible-san (Mr. Possible), for your assistance in these matters. I am glad you are not possible-three, nor possible-acid, though "san" does have these alternate translation possibilities in English. In a parallel way, I suggest that it is no wonder, with such a diplomatic lack in WWII, that the bombs were dropped. We must persist to try to overcome any (perceived) lack of civility, despite the (apparently vast) differences in interpretation, given our respective cultural backgrounds.

Worldly wisdom may rule out what TD defines as Equivocation, Argument from Silence, and Generalization. I suggest that Divine/ WT wisdom does not. Galatians 5:19-21 is an example that comes to my mind.

Jehovah explained by WT
by PSacramento incan anyone confirm what i read on another website that the aid to bible undertsanding, 1971 pages 884-885, admit that the term jehovah is a combination of yhwh and the words adonia and elohim and that scholars generally favour "yahweh" as the correct pronunciation?.
is this correct?.

PSacramento, I believe that some events may "save" a life for the moment, but may prohibit "everlasting life". It's a matter of profound significance, to me.
If the medical community and the state were so concerned about "life-saving", they would all personally quit smoking and engaging in life-threatening activities, whether full-contact sports or bungee-jumping, etc. But no, there are hypocrites among thehe medical community and the state. It's all big business and the "almighty" dollar.
I serve Jehovah, with my neighbour (however broadly you may define "neighbour", in every circumstance. I defend Jehovah in whatever way I can, letting God remain true regardless of anything else.

The Last (Lord's) Supper
by PSacramento ini wanted to ask this question beacuse at the last memorial supper it caught my attention more than it ever did:.
why do some (not just the jw's) believe that judas did not partkae of the lord's supper, the bread and the wine?.
in the synoptic gospels of matt, mark and luke, there is nomention of judas being sent away, indeed in luke jesus says "behold the hand of the betrayer at the table with me".. while in john judas is sent away, he is sent after the supper, though it is not clear if this was the lord's supper since there is no mention of the the partaking of the wine and bread in john.. help would be greatly appreciated.. .

Ok have you ever been asked this question in regards to Isaiah 43:10 ?
by StoneWall inhow could god have always existed since it plainly says near the end of that verse before me there was no god formed?.
here is the quote from the nwt and i also looked it up on numerous other translations and they all used the word before.. .
isaiah 43:10. you are my witnesses, is the utterance of jehovah, even my servant whom i have chosen, in order that you may.

Genesis 1:2 says "… and God's active force was moving to and from over the surface of the waters." We might start there.
